Scholarship Program 1998 marked the creation of the Hikes Point Optimist Scholarship Program. $3000.00 scholarships are awarded to students involved or formerly involved in our sports programs. Each year the Hikes Point Optimist Club, will award upto $30,000.00 in scholarships. These monies will be awarded as individual $3,000.00 scholarships. Applications must be submitted by March 1 and will be evaluated by the scholarship selection committee. Each applicant must met the following criteria to be eligible for scholarship consideration. 1. Applicant involvement with the Hikes Point Optimist Sports programs for at least 4 years. 2. Applicant must have a GPA of at least 2.5. 3. Applicant must supply the committee with ACT and/or SAT scores. 4. Applicant must supply a letter of recommendation from a teacher or a counselor. 5.
